The Estancia Club
The redesign of the famed Estancia Club is rooted in creating seamless desert-living—an environment where the comfort of the interior and the openness of the surrounding landscape coexist without interruption. Our goal was to dissolve the traditional boundary between inside and out, allowing the building to breathe with the rhythm, luminosity, and warmth of the Arizona desert.
Aesthetically, the space embraces a clean, contemporary expression that highlights natural materials, organic textures, and expansive transparency. Large operable glass walls, strategically framed vistas, and an expanded balcony were used to draw the landscape inward, making the panoramic mountain views and desert light an integral part of the daily experience. Soft, neutral finishes balance the boldness of the environment, creating a calm and welcoming interior palette that enhances, rather than competes with, the surrounding scenery. The overall composition aims to feel both refined and relaxed—an effortless extension of desert living.
Across all spaces, the design sought to maximize usability, enhance member experience, and create a fluid circulation pattern that feels intuitive and comfortable. Every square foot was considered for its potential to support social interaction, relaxation, and operational efficiency. The redesign strives for a harmonious balance: architecture that reflects the beauty of the desert, spaces that support contemporary club life, and design decisions that ensure long-term adaptability and comfort for members and staff alike.
