Erik Peterson attended the Pacific Design Center (PDC) Fall Market on September 27th in L.A and was invited to partake on a panel discussion alongside fellow design industry professionals discussing “Smart Houses Off the Charts.” Moderated by Frank Mottek, Senior Money Anchor for LA’s KNX 1070, the panel covered the current fusion of cutting-edge innovation with unique design aesthetics. Erik Peterson was joined by interior designer Jamie Bush (Jamie Bush + Co), Architect William Mungall (Landy Design Group) and product designer Christopher Kennedy (Christopher Kennedy Inc.) spoke in front of a sold-out room, and received high praise for his contributions. Additionally, Erik joined the LA design community in celebrating design icon, Rocky LaFleur’s Lifetime Achievement Award the night before at the Pacific Design Center.
Scott Carson, Commercial Principal attended the highly-anticipated SketchUp 3-D Basecamp in Palm Spring during the week of September 24th – 28th. The biennial SketchUp user conference is where innovators, design professionals and industry leaders congregate for a week of learning, teaching and designing. The conference was attended by 1200 people in total from all over the world and in a variety of disciplines including, interior designers, architects, contractors, graphic designers, illustrators and stage/set designers.
“The biggest takeaway for me was that across all industries and experience levels, conference attendees had a need and a desire to learn the tips and tricks to effectively being able to showcase their 3-D design to clients and to master the ever-expanding number of plugins for SketchUp software,” said Scott Carson regarding the conference.
