LUKE AIR FORCE BASE HERITAGE ROOM | It has been our pleasure to work on renovating the new Heritage Room for Squadron 62 at Luke Air Force Base. Known for their service and bravery – PHX drew inspiration from the “grittiness of battle” and also the long significant heritage that the men and women of the armed forces uphold on a daily basis.

To celebrate the completion of the new gathering space, Erik Peterson and Maurita Harris, attended the grand opening celebration. Complete with a tour of the base as well as an inside look at the Air Force Fighter jets.

“Working on this project was truly an honor – these men and women serve to protect our country every day, so to be able to give back to them and design a room where they can have fun and relax was really exciting for me.” – Maurita Harris, Architect III.

Although there are some remaining finishing touches that are in still in the works, the new Heritage Room looks fantastic and has received high praise from the base. Some design highlights for us included – the huge custom metal barn door that is made to look like one of the fighter pilot jet doors, complete with the Squadron’s insignia. As well as the original “warehouse” ceiling that was discovered after removing the ceiling tiles.

This was truly a project that our firm is going to remember, what an honor it was to work on it.

Additionally  our firm recently completed work on the Terravita Clubhouse in North Scottsdale. This was truly a dream team, with PHX Architecture, Greey|Pickett and Studio V interiors. The refreshed look and feel open up the dining room and bar area, elevating the club members experience. With custom details including metal roof panels on the patio and two large custom wine racks the space “wows” as soon as you walk in. To celebrate the re-opening, PHX was invited to the official opening party, Saturday January 19th, which was a ton of fun and extremely well attended.

Congrats to Erik, Ron, Andrea and team on an incredible project! We look forward to sharing more photos of the finished product soon!
