Over the past couple months we have had three top tier press features in Iconic Life Magazine, Forbes.com and Club & Resort Business.

Iconic Life Magazine – Feature “Striking A Chord”

Iconic Life Magazine featured our award-winning project – Santa Catalina Residence in a stunning 8-page feature entitled “Striking A Chord”. The feature highlights the home’s recent Gold Nugget win – Gold Nuggets are the most premier awards in the design industry, hosted by PCBC every Spring. The home was a collaboration between the incredible design mind of PHX Architecture (Erik Peterson and Stuart Jon Traynor), Platinum Home Companies (Dave Reese and Stephanie Fox), and Holly Wright of Holly Wright Interior Design. The modern-desert home is located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The home is oriented on the site so that the homeowners could enjoy the the sprawling vista views and indigenous desert landscaping, which the piece perfectly details. It also offers an inside glimpse into the design inspiration behind the award-winning home – including the “strategic materials” and “numerous details” that make the structure of the home so dramatic and elegant. Erik Peterson and Stuart Jon Traynor were interviewed for the piece and each have several quotes throughout the piece, including one on what an honor it was to win a Gold Nugget with this particular project.

Club & Resort Business – Feature “The Road Ahead – Taking ‘Members Over the Moon’ at Mirabel”

Most recently the video feature entitled, “The Road Ahead- Taking ‘Members Over the Moon’ at Mirabel” featured our recently completed project – Mirabel Golf Club. We have received a ton of recognition for this project, and we couldn’t be happier for the entire design team as well as Club Management. A huge thank you to Joe Barks over at Club Resort & Business as well as Marcie Mills, the General Manager extraordinaire at Mirabel. She is also featured alongside Erik Peterson in the video feature – discussing her vision for the re-design as well as her overwhelming enthusiasm for the finished product. We absolutely love the impact this redesign has had on this club and it’s members.

Excerpt below:

Mills and Erik B. Peterson, President of PHX Architecture, which led the project’s design and execution, describe how it was successfully planned and completed, even with the added challenges posed by the pandemic, to create, among the many enhancements, a new indoor/outdoor peninsula bar with full glass sliding walls; increased casual dining space; more outdoor patio dining space with additional firepits; a private dining room; two new glass-walled wine rooms, and a modernized fitness center.

Creating and adding these new features within and around Mirabel’s distinctive, prairie-style Desert Lodge clubhouse, which bears the influences of Frank Lloyd Wright and Mary Colter, might have seemed to bring extra challenges to the project. But rather than being intimated by the building’s unique features (which include 12 fireplaces), “We took inspiration [from what already existed] and allowed that to guide us,” says Peterson.

Forbes.com – Feature “”Why You Need To Visit This Newly Renovated Architectural Oasis”

Additionally – our highly-buzzed about renovation of the reimagined Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort was featured as a “must visit” resort by Forbes.com. The article entitled, “Why You Need To Visit This Newly Renovated Architectural Oasis,” details out the Biltmore’s long standing history as well as architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s forever influence on the 100 year old property. The piece highlights the design work completed by PHX Arch, Virserius Studio and Jim Smith with Serving The Nation – applauding the re-imagined renovation for its commitment to keeping the property’s historic integrity, while also modernizing it to attract out of towners as well as the local Arizona community as well.
