GOLD NUGGET AWARDS 2024

Honored with two Gold Nugget Merit Awards, our team showcased expertise by submitting our current On-the-Boards project, Promontory Skyhouse, and one of our residential projects, Camelback Canyon. Promontory Skyhouse won a merit for the Best Recreational Use Facility and Camelback Canyon took the best Indoor/Outdoor Lifestyle for a home.

Promontory Skyhouse is meant to be the “pinnacle” private amenity within a private golf community that already has numerous award-winning clubhouses. So the challenge was a tall climb to achieve the “best of the best”. It was meant to be an extension of each member’s home where they can entertain and impress their guests. The idea was sparked by the mirror house that circulated on social media. To create a place that floats above the land, barely disturbing the natural plants and reflecting the sky and clouds. The steep slope of the land would have made for large walls but placing the building on piers and cantilevering elements saved cost and created a more dynamic appearance. The interiors appear to blend seamlessly with the exterior as materials carry through glass on walls and ceilings.

Camelback Canyon home has a pool area with a unique shaded pavilion with a woven fabric top and a rain-like water feature that cascades into the pool. Since the Client has a symbolic connection to butterflies, the team incorporated butterfly art panels that are backlit at night. In addition, there is a mural of the butterflies on the side of the guest house with individual fiber-optic lighting behind each cutout.

Noteworthy contributors to the success of these projects include the following:

Promontory Skyhouse Team – Promontory Homes, Vallone Design, Greey | Pickett, and Mulholland Development Solutions

Camelback Canyon Team – DLB Custom Homes, Vallone Design, Greey | Pickett, and Phil Johnson (Provisuals Media)

ICONIC DESIGN AWARDS 2024

We also submitted our Tranquil Desert Retreat project to the ICONIC Design Awards this year, which took home the Silver. This award reminds us of the importance of hard work, perseverance, and passion. The image on display is the luxurious kitchens with an open, airy layout that encourages flow between the kitchen, dining, and living areas. Large windows or even floor-to-ceiling glass doors flood the kitchen with natural light, making the wood cabinetry and finishes feel even more luxurious. Thank you to the phenomenal team who worked tirelessly on this magnificent remodel.
