Cynthia Godinez

Cynthia joined the PHX Architecture Team in 2023. She has worked on luxury residential and hospitality projects in Mexico and the US with prominent architects for over a decade, and is passionate about architecture as well as design, which allows her to take on new challenges with enthusiasm and an open mind.

Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, Cynthia received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University Center of Art Architecture and Design (CUAAD) in 2005. She was inspired by a visit to Taliesin in 2017 which led to the completion of her master’s degree from The Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture in 2020. She is Licensed in Mexico and working on US registration.

She is a mother of 2 amazing daughters who have accompanied her on her architectural journey, living at Taliesin for 3 years and helping their mother pursue her dream. Outside of work, she makes art, plays volleyball, immerses herself in nature, baking and reads poetry and literature.

Jessica Gemond

Born and raised in the beautiful Virginia countryside, Jessica grew up playing outside alongside her 4 brothers, soaking in the majority of life’s lessons from the ‘school of hard knocks’. Post-high school, she attended Christopher Newport University in Newport News Virginia, but after being accepted at the University of Arizona to study Architecture, decided to completely up-root and relocate to sunny Arizona. What started as a temporary move, turned into a seven-plus year rollercoaster of self-discovery, growth, and adventure. And as the saying goes, “If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans”, as she found herself instead, studying business and working in education. Although grateful for the experience, she is thrilled to now be diving headfirst into the creative and dynamic world that initially called her out to the desert years prior.

Her passion comes from the deeply seeded belief in the potential of people and the power of thinking outside of the box. To empower those around her to think bigger and dig deeper.

Outside of work, you can find her spending time with friends and family, reading, painting, weight lifting, playing soccer, exploring, or just shooting the breeze and striving to live every day as if it is the best day ever. If it sounds like it will make for a good story down the road, count her in.
