We are thrilled to share that PHX was recently featured by the Wall Street Journal in an article entitled, “A Desert Ode to Paperweights.” The piece highlights PHX’s work on a stunning contemporary home north of Scottsdale, AZ.
“Built into a steep, cactus-covered hillside, the whimsical house is a series of intersecting arcs and circles that reflect the shape of paperweights.” – Candace Taylor, Journalist.
The article showcases several quotes from Erik – including his insight into the design and how it “plays on the glass, the paperweight an how they sort of distort your views.”
We are incredibly thankful to the homeowner, Jane Huey for allowing the press an inside look into her home. Located in Mummy Mountain range, the true focal point of the home is the floor-to-ceiling glass, which overlooks the home’s infinity pool and stunning desert views – which the author perfectly captures the essence of in the writing of the piece. On newsstands, November 9th – the full article can be read here.
Congratulations to the dream design team that made this all possible.

Additionally – one of our homes located in the “Mirabel” community in North Scottsdale was recently selected to be a stop on Phoenix Home & Garden’s 2018 Home Tour. The tour takes place very year, and continues to be a very popular event. Throughout the day – Erik alongside Beth McGehee (Interior Designer), Dan Couterier (Builder) and Chad Norris (Landscape Designer) walked around the home, greeting visitors and answering questions. In total – over 300 people came through the home and it was an overwhelming crowd favorite. Multiple visitors stopped Erik to say it was their favorite stop on the tour!
Huge thank you to Karol Nickell and the entire Phoenix Home & Garden team for including us and putting on such an incredible event year after year!
