On August 15th, we celebrated the grand opening of our recently completed project, True Spec Golf in Beverly Hills. The Ribbon Cutting, put on by the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce took place in front of their studio in the heart of Beverly Hills. The studio also sits directly beneath our PHX Beverly Hills office.

For the ribbon cutting, Erik was joined by the Chamber’s President and CEO, Todd Johnson as well as True Spec’s CEO Hoyt McGarity. The Beverly Hills location of True Spec Golf is the fourth studio that we have designed following NYC, Boston and their headquarters located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The ribbon cutting was followed by a grand opening party put on by True Spec. Guests of the event were able to experience the spacious indoor hitting bay with the latest in TrackMan technology and the industry’s first quadroscopic launch monitor. The event was attended by over a hundred people, and provided guests with a glimpse of the kind of work that PHX Architecture brings to the Los Angeles region.

Huge thank you to the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, True Spec Golf and everyone who made this project such a huge success. Shutout to Maurita Harris and Danny Gonzales on a job well done!

Additionally, in late July Erik attended the highly-anticipated ICAA (Institute of Classical Architecture & Art) Summer Garden Party, hosted in the garden of a  historic and restored LA estate. The original architect of the estate was George Washington Smith (1876-1930). The gardens where the event took place were designed by Scott Shrader. At the event, Erik enjoyed networking and mingling with fellow designers!
