About:

PHX Architecture over the past 5 years has been doing pro-bono projects out at Luke Air Force Base. We have currently designed heritage rooms for the 62nd F35 Fighter Squadron and the 63rd F35 Fighter Squadron. Heritage rooms are basically the break room, and social room for the squadron to share their history and pride. The latest design was based on The Eagle RAF Pub of Cambridge were scores more airmen, using lighters, candles, and, in one case, a girlfriend’s lipstick, immortalized their squadron, plane, or initials onto the ceiling.

During our period of work on the base, Erik was nominated in 2019 to be an honorary commander. The Honorary Commander Program enables members of the community to understand the importance of Luke Air Force Base, the Air Force, the Department of Defense, and their military mission. It also enables military commanders and their units to learn more about the community in which they live. Luke commanders and personnel benefit through increased association with the community and its leaders. Erik served as honorary commander for the 56th Civil Engineering Squadron from Oct 2020 – Oct 2022. The highlight of the term is a flight in an F16 fighter jet. Erik had his flight in April 2022 and flew a support mission with (2) F35s. The flight lasted an hour-and-a-half and he pulled 6.9Gs (without getting sick or passing out).
