Stuart is a Chartered Architect with the Royal Institute of British Architects and Registered with the Architect’s Registration Board within the United Kingdom. He’s also an International Associate member of the American Institute of Architects.
Stuart was born in London, England. He has undergraduate degrees in construction and architecture from the University of Huddersfield and University of Portsmouth respectively. He has a Masters Honors degree in architecture from the University for the Creative Arts Canterbury and a Professional Practice Certificate from the Architectural Association London. During his studies, Stuart travelled extensively to study foreign architecture. Notable destinations included Venice, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris, Lyon, Dublin, and Luxor Egypt. He also spent time studying at the Sainte Marie de La Tourette designed by Le Corbusier in the Rhone-Alpes region of France.
Stuart relocated from New York to join our team at PHX Architecture in 2012. As the Creative Director, he works closely with Erik Peterson and our clients to develop the early design concepts for many of our luxury residential projects. As the project moves through the design phase and construction drawings begin, Stuart keeps a watchful eye on the progress to ensure the design intent is faithfully executed.
Previously, Stuart spent six years with a design firm in New York City, where he was involved in the design for the September 11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center site, for which he received the American Institute of Architects Presidential Citation.
Outside the studio, Stuart enjoys watching professional soccer, and has become a dedicated Diamondbacks baseball fan.
