Scott Car­son



Scott is licensed in Ari­zona, Col­orado, Texas and New York. He also has attained his NCARB cer­ti­fi­ca­tion. Recently, Scott founded and is Co-​Chair of the Ari­zona Chap­ter of the Cus­tom Res­i­den­tial Archi­tects Net­work, a national orga­ni­za­tion of design pro­fes­sion­als spe­cial­iz­ing in res­i­den­tial architecture.

Scott grew up in Ari­zona and received his Bach­e­lor of Sci­ence in Design with influ­ence in Archi­tec­ture and a Mas­ter of Archi­tec­ture from Ari­zona State Uni­ver­sity. Scott’s achieve­ments have won him the title of “2008 AIA Young Gun Archi­tect” by the local AIA Chap­ter, and in 2011 he was named a Phoenix Home and Gar­den “Young Gun”. Sev­eral of his projects have been fea­tured in Phoenix Home & Gar­den and Luxe Magazine.

Scott joined PHX Archi­tec­ture in August of 2006. As a Prin­ci­pal, Scott leads the Res­i­den­tial projects group and directly designs and over­sees many of the firm’s notable and award-​winning cus­tom homes, with cur­rent projects in Utah, Texas, and locally in com­mu­ni­ties such as Sil­ver­leaf, Desert Moun­tain, and Par­adise Val­ley. Scott has also led a num­ber of acclaimed com­mer­cial projects, includ­ing the Mar­ket Street Kitchen at DC Ranch, the Gypsy Bar at Lucky Strike in down­town Phoenix, and the Cal­istro Bistro.

Scott appren­ticed under the late George Chris­tensen, FAIA while com­plet­ing his stud­ies at Ari­zona State Uni­ver­sity. Fol­low­ing the unex­pected pass­ing of Mr. Chris­tensen, Scott was instru­men­tal in help­ing to con­tinue the firm, renamed as Car­son Poetzl, Inc., where he designed and man­aged many of the firm’s exten­sive res­i­den­tial addi­tions and restorations.

Out­side the stu­dio, Scott enjoys spend­ing time with his fam­ily, camp­ing and boating.
