PHX is thrilled to introduce you to Michael DesBarres, who recently joined our firm in the Beverly Hills office working as an Architect I.

Michael is a registered architect (WI 2014) and holds an NCARB certificate, allowing fast licensure in most states. He brings over a decade of architectural experience to PHX including a variety of residential and commercial projects, luxury homes, retail storefronts, tenant improvements and restaurants. Serving as both a team leader and in supporting roles, Michael has worked on projects in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Venice, Malibu and West Hollywood. Prior to joining PHX, Michael served as a Project Architect for Walker Workshop Design Build, and as a Project Manager for Ryder Design & Architecture – both based in Los Angeles. Originally from the Midwest and raised in Madison, WI, Michael earned his undergraduate degree in Geography from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. In 2008 he was awarded his Masters of Architecture degree from Taliesin, the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture. From 2010 to 2016 he served as a core faculty member at Taliesin, eventually holding the position of Director of Academic Affairs. During his tenure with the program the school was awarded an unprecedented 8-year accreditation from the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). Before moving to the West coast and in conjunction with his other roles and responsibilities, Michael operated a small design firm, MdB-Design, since 2008 and provided architectural design, graphic design, cartography, rendering/visualization and special-event coordination services.

Michael is thrilled to partner his experience and passion for Architecture with that of the amazing team at PHX, to best serve you and your projects in California and beyond.
