We are excited to announce that PHX Architecture’s 11th Annual Architecture Summer Camp is in full swing. Last Tuesday, June 11th we welcomed seven excited campers, ranging in age from 11 -18 to our office in Scottsdale to begin two-weeks of Architecture summer camp! The campers have already been introduced to their mentors, taken a field trip to our project, DC Ranch Clubhouse as well as learned the ins and outs of Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Sketching, Drawing to Scale and Sketch-up.
This week we are excited to take the Campers to another one of our projects as well as visit our friends over at Solstice Stone and Taliesin West. The campers will be presenting their final presentation of their very own “Dream House” this Friday in front of our staff and their parents.
Overview of our Summer Camp| Our Architecture Summer Camp is for grade school students, ages 12-18 years old, who are interested in learning more about Architecture. This two-week long camp is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about what it is like to pursue a career in Architecture. Throughout the two weeks students will be introduced to the various, exciting aspects of being an architect including site walks, guest speakers, hands-on activities and camp goers will even have the chance to design their very own project. Camp attendees will get to learn about space planning, project management, business strategies, and the history behind Architecture as a whole. We will also go over the basics of hand rendering, 3D modeling and drafting and tools like Photoshop & In Design. Throughout the two weeks, campers will get to attend an architect-led home tour and other related field trips. This comprehensive, hands-on learning experience will give each student the opportunity to ask questions, expand their creativity and the unique chance to experience what it is really like to be an Architect!
