Last week, PHX hosted a Lunch and Learn presentation from Mapei Moisture presented by Jennifer Vangen and Todd Wright. This was a valuable experience for our architects to learn about installation in floor coverings for commercial and residential construction.
Mapei Moisture is a company with 75 years of installation experience. They bring cutting edge knowledge and technology to the installation process, and have become a worldwide leader in the manufacturing industry of these systems. Along with floor installation systems, Mapei also has begun to present their new concrete restoration systems into the rapidly growing market. Both of these topics were presented to the PHX team.
The main objectives that were taught in this Lunch and Learn were to dig deeper and understand the issues of moisture and concrete installations, while also being able to recognize the symptoms of a “sick” building, or when the inhabitants of a building begin to suffer physical symptoms due to the way in which these two pieces were installed in a space.
The PHX team learned how to identify a “sick” building, the causes of vapor infiltration, and how to avoid a flooring disaster. With all of this new knowledge, our team can continue to learn about the correct practices so that we can continue to produce quality design.
