PHX Architecture recently volunteered time to Phoenix organization, Build Us Hope. Build Us Hope develops Tiny House communities in hopes of providing housing to our veterans and the homeless. The new homes, Micro on Madison, are located in downtown Phoenix at 12th and Madison.
With the help of our foreman for the day, Charlie and Garry, and a ton of guidance from organization leader, Elizabeth Singleton, the PHX team worked on siding, drywall, landscape, and even a back patio. When completed, the tiny home will be 288 square feet with a loft bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and small living area. The PHX Team and a fun, rewarding day and encourage all to get involved in the community.
Build us H.O.P.E. is designed to be a long-term, permanent community-based housing program that will provide supportive services for individuals who choose to participate in the programs we offer. Our target audience are those in need of affordable housing and/or those in need of supportive services.
The program consists of multiple projects which support the quick, effective connection and development of the support services needed. There are four primary categories that Build us H.O.P.E supports:
Unlike other organizations providing supportive housing services it is our goal to eliminate barriers so individuals can be placed in a housing unit as rapidly as possible. We will change the housing market in Arizona by providing high quality housing with innovative amenities at an affordable price.
