In Commercial news, PHX completed some new, fun projects and are excited for a booming 2018 with work starting on country clubs, new restaurants, and other hospitality ventures. Here are some projects completed this year:
PHX designed an aquatic center in Las Vegas, Nevada which finished construction. Adjacent to popular water park Wet “N’ Wild, The Summerlin Aquatic Center is a 25,000 square foot public facility featuring a 25 meter 10-lane swimming pool, shallow children’s pool, a water play area, playgrounds, parks and multi-purpose rooms. Summerlin is the areas premium master planned community. The center was built by Burke Construction Group, Inc and took 10 months. Landscape design group, Greey|Pickett led the landscape planning and design.
We consulted with Cyber Technology Group on a conference room upgrade for real estate development company, JDM. Our client was in need of conference room space that was more tech savvy. This space was elevated by the contributions from Cyber Tech who installed state of the art audio/visual conference equipment to create a more interactive space for client meetings.
Cyber Tech installed a Planar VCS Enterprise system which is an easy-to-use video wall processor that can display and manage multiple sources on a visual wall. It supports a variety of visual inputs including analog, digital, and IP network-based video and computer sources. Along with the VCS system, the Planar Clarity Matrix LCD Video Wall System was also used. This system delivers a new level of visual performance with a flexible video wall that combines the industry’s thinnest profile, ultra-narrow bezel LCD video. Clarity Matrix provides stunning 4K input capability and 10-bit color processing for better color depth and uniformity. Savant & SONY technologies were also included.
The Saint Marc Pub-Cafe, Bakery and Cheese Affinage in Huntingdon Beach, California opened in November 2015 and has since been highly praised, and has won numerous awards including Diners Choice 2017. Soon to join the Huntingdon Beach location, is a new Saint Marc restaurant in Westfield-Century City. The Saint Marc restaurants showcase a new restaurant concept that offers exceptional, nostalgic Americana cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere.
The new space will reflect that of the original, but will not be an exact replica and will be much larger. The new Century City restaurant will be taking over an old Hollister retail space and offer over 8,000 square feet of indoor dining with an additional 1,000 square feet of outdoor space.
From the Saint Marc team “Saint Marc throws away the traditional restaurant playbook to offer a one-of-a-kind, 360° morning to midnight experience without the expense, exclusivity or pretention one might expect from culinary talents this esteemed—and for quality food and drink this good. iPads of information offering images and on-demand ordering of what you want when you want it, over 100 cheese selections from boards to fondue, craft beers in a can, 32 wines on draught, with mixology served in Red Solo Cups and dishes served on faux paper plates—just some of the enticing features and unique characteristics that set Saint Marc on a less-traveled path. Saint Marc engages all of the senses, with worldly sights, sounds, aromas and flavors that invoke a five-star experience yet provide an environment as open and welcoming as home.”
PHX Architecture’s Maurita Harris-Walker is the project manager and Davina Griffis is designing the interiors.
The new spot is set to open early next year!
