Scott is licensed in Arizona, Colorado, Texas and New York. He also has attained his NCARB certification. Recently, Scott founded and is Co-Chair of the Arizona Chapter of the Custom Residential Architects Network, a national organization of design professionals specializing in residential architecture.
Scott grew up in Arizona and received his Bachelor of Science in Design with influence in Architecture and a Master of Architecture from Arizona State University. Scott’s achievements have won him the title of “2008 AIA Young Gun Architect” by the local AIA Chapter, and in 2011 he was named a Phoenix Home and Garden “Young Gun”. Several of his projects have been featured in Phoenix Home & Garden and Luxe Magazine.
Scott joined PHX Architecture in August of 2006. As a Principal, Scott leads the Residential projects group and directly designs and oversees many of the firm’s notable and award-winning custom homes, with current projects in Utah, Texas, and locally in communities such as Silverleaf, Desert Mountain, and Paradise Valley. Scott has also led a number of acclaimed commercial projects, including the Market Street Kitchen at DC Ranch, the Gypsy Bar at Lucky Strike in downtown Phoenix, and the Calistro Bistro.
Scott apprenticed under the late George Christensen, FAIA while completing his studies at Arizona State University. Following the unexpected passing of Mr. Christensen, Scott was instrumental in helping to continue the firm, renamed as Carson Poetzl, Inc., where he designed and managed many of the firm’s extensive residential additions and restorations.
Outside the studio, Scott enjoys spending time with his family, camping and boating.
